Well being Sunday, I have to put this birthday to rest. The week-long celebration is over. I am starting to think if I can have my birthday a couple of times a year it would be great aside of the fact of getting older. My kids are so well-behaved as they know how much I love my birthday it just amazes me. Tyra even asked, "Mom, may I have some milk please?" I said, "My goodness Tyra, not only may you have some milk, but you can drink it out of the jug!!" The manners, the kindness, no fighting, etc., etc. It is GREAT!!
A new celebration is on now.....The Cubs!!! What a 'W' yesterday, especially with the candles on the cake to light.....Edmonds catching the 3rd out playing the Cardinals to clinch the division!! How beautiful was that??!!! I informed Phillip if the Cubs got through the playoffs that I would be erecting the "W pole" outside!! GO CUBBIES!!!!
Again, thank you to all for the birthday wishes too!! I had a wonderful birthday as usual!!

Wild idea???

Yesterday, I bit the bullet!! The girls have been begging and begging, Tyra especially, for about a year now to do karate. Tyra's friend Amanda is in karate there and asked her a couple weeks ago to attend a karate deal with her. Tyra went, and I have heard nothing but karate this, karate that, etc., etc., every since. We went up there earlier this week to get some information about it. When I heard 2 things..... price and contract..... I was ready to turn around and run!! Needless to say, for 2 kids to do this, I could be purchasing me a Mini-Cooper car that I want very badly, but not feasible with 3 little kids!!

Putting the initial "wow" aside once I heard the price and a 2-year contract, I went home and sat on it. I remembered what Tyra's doc and old principal told me that some type of martial arts is excellent for children with ADHD, autism, etc. It is an extremely focused sport with lots of discipline, structure, energy release, mental thinking, etc. They all highly recommended it, but I just kinda shrugged my shoulders and pretty much thought it was for boys. There was a lady in there and her son that participates has autism. She said it was the best thing that she ever did and she would give up her car if she needed to just to keep him in the class that it was so beneficial to him in all aspects.

After observing a class the other night for about 2 hours, I decided that ya know, maybe this isn't such a bad thing after all and that in deed, the doc and principal may have a good idea going. I talked to Jim, who probably about dropped the phone to pick his tongue and eyes up off the floor once hearing the price, but we decided that for everything you get, 3 times a week for 1 hour each time, uniform, weapons, etc., the price probably was too bad, although, neither of us really have a clue what a "normal" price is.

A day later, the girls are enrolled and had their first session last night. Jimissy's suit was WAY to big and so we are waiting for them to order a smaller size. I thought it was bad when I wore a size 0, but Jimissy needs a 00!!!! The girls loved their class last night and so far, I think we made a good decision. Still not happy about the price or the contract that we had to sign for the length of time they will attend, but if it needs to be broken, hopefully we can work something out.

Tyra and Jimissy getting 1-on-1 instruction on a couple "everyday" moves, stance, etc.

Tyra and her friend Amanda who got her interested in this.

Jimissy practicing (mad as she does not look like everybody else).

Last week, the girls decided that Bradyn needed to start using the big boy potty and that I needed to buy him some "panties." Jimissy told me that she was tired of smelling his "pewoop" (still trying to figure out where this redneck vocab is coming from) and Tyra said she was tired of changing his diaper. So........the next time we were at Walmart, we headed to the "boy panty" section. The girls wanted Bradyn to pick them out himself and let me just say that I hope we don't need to worry yet, but he picked out some VERY lovely Strawberry Shortcake girl panties. I showed him the Transformer and Cars boy underwear and he said "No!" I finally found a sack that had 10 underwear in it for 5 dollars on sale (even better) that had all different boy types like The Incredibles (Dash Dash), Cars, Nemo, Elmo, Bob the Builder, etc. Once we got home, Bradyn LOVED his Dash Dash undies, but 1 problem.......he wouldn't sit on the potty!! He knew when he had to go to the bathroom and did NOT go on Dash Dash, but just held it in and did not go anywhere!
I decided to take him outside as he does have the typical "outdoor potty syndrome" and LOVES to go on command outside. Needless to say, Dash Dash stayed dry and Bradyn killed some weeds for me!! We are still working on the potty, but he still hates it. Walmart had at one time when Bradyn was about 6 months old the "Peter Potty." Yes, that is the actual name of it.... an upright boys urinal!! I might have to resort to the internet to find this since he seems to like the upright and obviously outside position better!

He is so proud of Dash Dash that he got a chocolate cookie to eat for not giving Dash Dash a yellow bath, but instead decided that he liked my pop better!!

Been quite busy as of late with school starting again. I am amazed at how fast it has went already...almost 4 weeks down..Wow!! I haven't had much of a chance lately to take any pixs, but did manage to grab a few over the past weeks. We also had Chief again for quite a few days over Labor Day and needless to say, he was a little prince!! He must have felt bad for the anger that he caused me last time. I think Pluto decided to get a little revenge as well while he was here by sleeping on his big pillow and letting Chief have his much smaller bed, but Chief managed to somehow curl himself up in that tiny little cat bed!!!

Bradyn's new fad lately of taking off his diaper and missing the potty chair and then running around the house showing everybody he took off his diaper and relieved himself on the floor. I happened to be talking to Jim at the time when he came over to the gate in front of my office, so I gave him the phone and he was talking to Jim when I took the pix.

Bradyn very badly wanted to try out the girls' scooters simultaneously. As you can see....even 2 doesn't work out very well even with dad holding him up who also is not doing very well!

Jimissy in her 1st grade classroom and her friend Veda. She loves 1st grade, but says she needs some harder homework. Believe it or not, there are quite a few kids apparently that do not know how to spell their names, write the alphabet or their numbers, AND cannot even count to 10!!!! Her homework this past week was dot-to-dots counting to 10 and practice writing her name. I told her to practice her name in cursive to give her something a little more challenging!! Hopefully this will not last much longer or she will be very bored!!!

Bradyn, Jimissy, and her "stinky boy" teacher, Mr. Huddleston....whom I might add she absolutely loves now.....aside of the fact that he is a Cardinal fan and Steelers! Still trying to figure out why there are all Cardinal teachers in the building!! Will get pixs of Tyra's teacher on Monday at open house. They were in music the day that I was there.

Jim decided to see if Chief could swim or not...Yip he can and did a great job. We were a little worried and afraid his big head would make him sink!

We got Bradyn a new life jacket over the weekend. He LOVED it. It was like having his own "floatie!" He just lounged all over the pool laid back and enjoying himself. The girls had a great time swimming under him, around him, over him, etc., as he just chilled out and enjoyed the weather and water!!

I think Pluto was seeking some sort of revenge from a few weeks ago when Chief was here. He decided to sleep on Chief's big pillow the entire time and had Chief sleep in his cat bed. No clue how he fit in it, but he did. In the pix, Jim startled them both trying to take a pix and woke them up and Chief fell out of the bed a little bit, but he was ALL in the cat bed!!
